該不會是 swine flu!?!?




jkjk... 這原本應該是個開心的 sunshine coast day trip 日記 T---T

其實一開始都還蠻快樂 & 生龍活虎地

早上 7:30 爬起來要趕 9:20 的 ferry

出門時已經 8:30 想說大概趕不上了..沒想到我開到 horseshoe bay 才 9:10
(大概是時速 116km 的關係 XD)

到了收費站它說 the ferry is leaving...趕快買了$86 的 ticket 後就又飆了上船

大概是 long weekend 最後一天的關係..沒什麼車要從 vancouver 到 langdale

倒是一到了 sunshine coast.. 那邊的車子已經從 ferry's waiting line 排到遠遠遠遠的山坡上去了 Orz
(心想..今晚不知道能不能回家)


Main Destination : Smuggler Cove

This small, picturesque all-weather anchorage near Secret Cove has authentic pirate history. Following the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway, William Kelly smuggled illegal Chinese immigrants from Vancouver into the US by sea for $1 each. He evaded arrest by hiding in Smuggler Cove. During Prohibition in the 1920s, the Cove was used to store bootleg liquor en route from stills on Texada Island to rum-running boats heading to the US.

我們在路邊看到一個小小的 trial entrance 就下了車..以為我們到了 smuggle cove..

開始走類似 grouse grinding's route.. 凹凸不平..very NATURAL route XD

(感覺一不小心就會掉下去 XD)

意外在森林裡碰到一個瀑布

走了半小時後...開始聽到了一些聲音



爸...那是不是海的聲音啊 (smuggle cove 的底端是海)

嗯是啊~ 我們快到了吧?

爸...你有沒有聽到 horn 的聲音啊?

那因該是 ferry 的號角聲吧



又走了 20 多分鐘...發現前面有出口...但是....是灰色的柏油路!!

OH NOOO~~ 其實我們聽到的是 highway 101 上車子在飄和喇吧的聲音 Orz

根本不是什麼 smuggler cove 囧|||||

拿出我的 ipod touch 查了一下昨天存的地圖...才發現 smuggler cove 其實還離這很遠 T-T

我跟老爸從 highway 101 沿路走回去找我們的車子...

沒想到我們還停得真遠啊...走了 15 多分鐘

上了車後又繼續往下開...回到我們的 original destination

到了 smuggler cove 以後

理面整個環境好漂亮啊

因為幾乎有一半是 swamp.. 我們大多是走在小橋上

真是比之前在某個森林裡攀爬簡單多了

半路上雖然沒在 swamp 裡看到 beaver 倒是發現了水蛇!!

走到最底端的 smuggler cove 以後....那裡的風景真的非常優美

愛吃的老哥馬上就發現了礁上的大 oyster

當下就把它開啟來...野生的 oyster 大小是外面養的兩倍勒!!

雖然很想吃...但外面有警告牌 T-T
(don't know if there's a red tide...and there are bacteria in raw oyster XD)

返回停車場上的路上

我開始覺得不適....不知道是因為太久沒吃東西還是怎樣

爬完 3 點後才要去吃午飯...在車上先吃了顆滷蛋 + 喝點麥香奶茶充飢

一路上我壓抑著想吐的感覺....搖搖晃晃到了有名的 Old Boot Eatery 小店後

全家了點了不同的 pasta 只有我因為沒食慾喝著熱水

老媽叫我吃幾口 creamy pasta 後

離開時我忍不住跑去它們的廁所....

which i felt...it was like a small waterfall
(sorry for grossing anyone out XD )

之後還是在不適中度過

我們 5 點多就去排 ferry

想說最晚因該會等到 6 點回去..沒想到我們的理想一直在 delay

等 ferry 的車比我們當初下船時還要長還要遠

time slowly passed by from 5 to 6 to 8 to 10
(note.. ferry only comes every 2 hrs after Orz)

在這之間我全身一直發冷/發抖 + 肌肉酸痛 + 想吐又吐不出

好不容易搭上了最後一班 ferry

竟然還在船上巧遇 megan & patrick

不過當時我打招呼都沒力氣 (虛脫狀態)

最後要準備下船回車上時

差點要在大庭廣眾之下表演第二次小瀑布

只好一直忍，一直忍，一直忍...

總算把它給壓下去

看來是中了腸胃炎

不過還好是跟家人一起出來...有家人照料 =]



這次還有個很棒的 destination 沒去到

Skookumchuck means “Strong Water”. Tidewater is forced through Skookumchuck Narrows and forms the Sechelt Rapids. The difference in water levels between one side of the rapids and the other can exceed two metres in height. Current speeds can exceed 30 km/hr. If it’s big waves you’re looking for, check out the “Flood Tide”, it can be viewed from the Roland Point viewing area. The whirlpool and tidal pool activity is found during the “Ebb Tide” and can be viewed from the North Point viewing area. There is approximately a one hour window on either side of the “Best Viewing” times, so don’t feel you need to be there right at the exact time – it’s a process. This easy hike is on a 4 km well developed trail with minimal elevation change and will take about one hour to walk.
