Summer 2008 Family Trip @ Jasper
從年初就盼望已久的冰河之旅終於實現了!!!
雖然一路上的天氣陰晴不定
不過還好下雨時我們都是在趕路、超車中度過
而下車時，每個景點都是萬里晴空
Day 1 - August 1st, Friday 6am
Surrey -> D Dutchman Dairy -> Banff Louise Lake -> Icefield Center -> Jasper
第一站: D Dutchmen Dairy
媽媽想起 ~8 年前跟旅行團來時有在這吃過很好吃的冰淇淋
老哥馬上緊急迴轉朝紅色農場開去
我們 4人買了一桶 1L 的冰淇淋
你一口，我一口的享受冰淇淋午餐
果然不出所望...超好吃的濃濃奶香冰淇淋!!

開車上路時，打嗝還有奶香味呢 XD
農場裡除了馬牛群外 還有其他奇異鳥類
沒看過這麼 "紳士"、這麼美的公雞
(印象中都是黃黃土土的 )

第二站: Louise Lake
因為爸爸沒有去過 Banff，所以到 Louise Lake 走一趟
其實我對 Louise Lake 也沒什麼印象
小時候跟旅行團在春天來時，整個湖面都結冰 (就連一旁的瀑布也結冰)
當時我們還小心翼翼的在厚厚的雪上走，怕會跟電影情節一樣湖面裂開而掉落
第三站: Icefield Centre
看著離我們不遠的冰河和有三個我高的 Ice Explorer 整個很興奮
傍晚的氣候有 9 度，但從冰河吹來的風很刺骨，逼的我們拿大衣出來
雖然抵達時已經結束營業，不過 Icefield Centre 還是開著
於是我們蒐集了一些小道消息就往 Jasper Town Center 開去
(ex. how to avoid crazy rush hour between 10-2pm.. aka huge tourist crowds)
第一天晚上吃 Jasper 裡面的一家廣東菜
...隔天拉到臉冏掉
Day 2 - 9am Jasper -> Icefield Centre -> Athabasca Fall -> Miette Hot Spring
9:5x am first appearance of wild life in Jasper!
and its a mama bear and her baby!!
第一站: Columbia Icefield
10:15am 搭乘 Ice Explorer 去冰河探險啦!
全世界僅有 23 台 Ice Explorer
其中的 22 台在 Jasper's Icefield Centre...那請問最後一台呢?

答案揭曉嘍~.... US's Disney Land Orz
Toe of Athabasca Glacier
沒錯，我們所看到/踩到的只是 Athabasca Glacier 的"腳趾" 而已
而遠方看不到的盡頭才是真正的 Columbia Icefield
(but there is no way for us to reach there except through a helicopter.. or risk of lives - walk XD)
第二站: Athabasca Fall
我在此.........小小走失/散 T-----T||||
(因為一直在玩大砲，沒注意到家人已經離開）
第三站: Miette Hot Spring
Miette Hot Spring 位於 Edmonton 方向的一個深山裡
但人還是爆多...外面排大長龍
泡著室外的 40 度溫泉、看著附近的風景，真是一大享受～
晚餐在一家希臘餐廳 - Palisades 享用
Their Alberta Beef New York Steak & New Zealand Lamb Roast is awesome!
(great prices too!)
Day 3 - 10am Jasper -> Kamloops -> Surrey
回家走近路開 #5 highway
途中被一位機車的機車駕駛給了一個 "thumb down" = =|||
(誰叫他騎太慢 XD....還被我後面其他機車抄呢)
途中還在 Kamloops 停留一小時
意外的是，街上沒多少人簡直像個鬼城...
不知道是不是太熱的關係... 30 degree
(but i found out after that.. we are not actually in their downtown, though the street sign says its their downtown = = )
最後回到家 8 點多，完成了冰河之旅!
but that's not the end of my "fun & tiring long weekend"~
spent the next two days painting our fences under the crazy sun Orz||||

1L ice cream is a LOT... (even for four...)
maybe that's what made you guys sick and not the dinner XD
looks like a fun family trip =)

hahah i don't think it's the ice cream XD..coz that canto restaurant taste like cxxp
but 1L of ice cream is not that much (or maybe becoz i eat slow.. only got a big cupful of ice cream before the rest is gone T-T )
