看看距離下午 1:40 集合時間還有 2 個小時

於是就開始播放...

趕快關機....microsoft 的關機聲音響起

在 downtown 借廁所是非常麻煩的事

於是趁著 andy 要去 DQ 買冰淇淋

就去借了廁所...但由於廁所是 customer only...

所以要到的 key 是男生的 XD...

gina 先進去...過了沒多久廁所傳來尖叫聲

gina: 啊~~啊!!!!!

外面兩個老外有點驚到..我們也嚇一跳

gina 衝了出來...

水也跟著衝了出來 (馬桶 overflow XD )

兩個老外女士也嚇跑了 XD!!

andy: 哇 gina 妳上好多啊..

gina: (瞪) 原本就快滿出來了好嗎?


---精采的前序告一段落..現在進入正題---

今天 2 點半集合後我們就出發

踏進了因該有 8 年沒來的 stanley park
(距離上一次是當初剛移民..跟浣熊玩了一次 XD )

今天天氣很棒~

整個沿途風景很漂亮

大家也脫了鞋，踏上了沙灘

開始玩起...

"佛山無影腳" 與 "翻滾吧！男孩"

最後去洋食屋 & illy

吃撐破了肚子的日式 curry 和 parfait 甜點
(今天的汗都白流了 Orz)


因為大久沒運動...

之前禮拜四去完六號出口後
(走完那個無止盡的樓梯)

這幾天早上都是因為小腿肌肉酸痛而醒來

肌肉還沒休息好..今天又去騎腳踏車

回家時..上下樓梯心裡一直罵髒話...真的快殘廢了 XD
(其實就連平常走就在痛了....坐著也會感到酸)

明天又要去 chilliwack...

我的腿會很高興的 XD

冷...的值得!

但考完 final 一身輕，決定走向那個有名的六號出口

她在那...看到有個男的正在....XXX

她聽說...那裡只有老人家會脫

我在那...只看到光溜溜的.........蚌殼、螃蟹...

不過我也只是純粹想去那走走沙灘，照照相，流流鼻涕 =P

在那遇到七年級時，害我小腿毀容的兇手

最後呆了2~3個小時才回家 (嗯 閒爆了)

天氣雖然冷，但不算太壞 XD

不過我總算踏上 Wreck Beach 一次了 =P

倒數12個小時

ahahaha (笑到肚痛)

半年不見還是好好笑!!! XD
(不過這次好多了...至少有"真正的"讀到)

在 Starbucks 讀了一整天

全身上下沒有一個地方聞起來不是咖啡 Orz

倒數...在不到12個小時就結束了

實在是被分到已經在 UBC 呆了 3 年還沒聽過的地方

路過 main library 就順便照了幾張

不過發現一些有趣的東西 =]



案件 1: 石像上為什麼刻著 evolution?

Entranceway Carvings

David Brock, in Scrapbook for a Golden Anniversary: The University of British Columbia Library, 1915-1965, pointed out one of the Library's unique architectural features:

"Slightly above and a little to each side of the main door there are two little carvings, left there as a private joke by the stonemasons. They are not very big, and they are in low relief, and your eye does not normally seek out that part of the entrance anyway. But hundreds and thousands of us know that they are there...One carving represents a Fundamentalist and is labelled FUNDA....The other carving shows a kind of ape, and it labelled EVOL. And thus the visitor can tell, even now, that these carvings were made while the Scopes trial in Dayton, Tennessee, was hot news. In other words, in 1925.

案件 2: 為什麼有 1925 刻在頂端?

Construction

A small publication entitled Buildings and Equipment of the University of British Columbia (1925) described the recently-completed Library as:

"....a massive structure of two stories and a basement built of British Columbia granite. The style is late Tudor, modernized. The entrance floor is devoted to offices, and to the Burnett collection which represents the arts, handicraft and weapons of Polynesia. The floors of the Main Entrance Hall, of the staircases and of the Concourse are finished with large marbled rubber tiles which harmonize with the general colour scheme, and ensure quietness in the principle parts of the building."

案件 3: ever noticed the pretty Hogwarts-like stained glass?

Stained Glass Window

Although the idea of a stained glass window for the area above the front stairwells leading to the concourse had first been discussed in 1924, the project did not come to fruition for several years. In 1927, funds provided by an anonymous donor allowed work to proceed on the Canadian Jubilee Memorial window (below), which marked Canada's first 60 years of nationhood.

Unveiled by B.C. Premier S.F. Tolmie on November 28th, 1928, the nine panels of stained glass included the Dominion coat of arms, flanked by those of the other eight provinces. University architects Sharp and Thompson prepared the original plans for the window, and the design was later modified by the Bromsgrove Guild of Montreal and University Librarian John Ridington. The contract for the work was given to the Canadian branch of the guild in Montreal and the work was executed in England. Final costs for the project was $1,600.

The Golden Compass

to my surprise,

The Golden Compass is actually VERY interesting O口O!!
(原本只是抱著下來看看就殺掉的心情)

it actually made me want to read the novel after (its in series too)

when i havn't touch any novels in... 2 yrs XD

since i hav always been a fan of fantasy fiction

maybe its time to dig out my library card, and check out those three volumes XD

今天一進考場就嚇到了

天啊~ 每一份考卷上都印著大大大大大的臉耶 O口O

今天早上還一度緊張到拉肚子 Orz

將近一個禮拜的好天氣

今天下午竟然一瞬間，從眼前閃過道白光
(一度以為讀到眼瞎了) = =|||

過沒多久，轟，雷聲也趕來了

不知是突然來襲的雷聲嚇到了車子還是...

警報聲和雷聲參雜在一起

接著下起不知是雪還是冰雹 (會飄的)

外面也颳起一陣陣白風和白霧

之後連接著幾個閃電和雷聲

真是奇怪的天氣

更奇怪的是 surrey 什麼閃電，什麼雷聲，什麼雨也沒有

是在做夢嗎 ?


[記者時況報導]: shit! 現在晚上九點...外面竟然在下雪 Orz...

...明天 final 因該不會被 cancel 吧(!?) 哈

天氣快點好起來~ 我還想考完去騎個腳踏車或什麼的


ps. 今天逛到台北101的登高大賽

竟然有人可以在12分鐘內登到頂端 O口O!!!!

還有..台北101竟然有 mascot 耶! XD||... didn't know that before

竟然在 ubc 過夜了...

哈哈 破紀錄了...一定要記錄 XD

禮拜四下午3點進 CS lab

最後離開 lab 的時候，陽光已經照耀在我們的臉上

還有小鳥開心的唱著歌來迎接我們呢
(看著路上有人在晨跑..很感慨)

回到家已經是禮拜五早上 6 點多了~ 耶

洗個澡...翹了幾乎整天的課
(如果日文沒有 presentation...也會翹掉的 = = )

這還是第一次在 ubc 過夜

跟 celia 趕著做 assignment

其實..我們3點就打算放棄回家睡覺了

不過因為之前coding 存了太多 versions (lab03a, lab03b, lab03c..etc)

而之後越做越失敗 XD

導致最後回去用 lab03b 時...很多 coding 都不一致了

於是又花了幾個小時修改 = =||||

但還是不能用 Orz

最後才發現不是 code 的問題..是 SEVER!!!

STUPID LULU I HATE U!!!! XDDDDDDDD


不過重點還是....

procrastination costs your sleep & health XD... but it's too addictive

原來 CS sever 也會被大家操到死掉啊


今天才知道...

原來我們 lab 裡有那麼多人
還有很多手 (都是排隊要等著問 TA 的手)


原來越靠近要交 assignment 的時間...
學校的 sever 會連續爆掉...並花越久的時間修復
(從來沒碰過今天這樣事件....虧他們還有 backup sever 呢)


原來 forest 那邊的 Tim Hortons 越接近晚上，生意越好
排個半小時是很正常的

原來 Starbucks 旁邊那家 News convenient store 有賣 gift wraps
weee saved my life!!!! and iz only $1.99...not $4.99 as in ubc price~ =D

然後...網路的世界是非常複雜的...Orz
最近一直提到 fork()...很想把中間兩個 alphabets 換掉

今天 12:30pm 到家

明天因該是 1:30am 吧 =]

在撐個 2 天就結束了...
不過 final 有得瞧...我不要重拿!!!! XD

tired...

好累好累

這禮拜每天回到家都11點...
